Review of Y2S1 (Part 2)

On top of the video production (click here if you missed it), I gained another interesting experience of producing a CD labeler from advertising design subject. Some of my classmates really produced CD labeler that looked like those that are selling outside, seriously, from the packaging, to design, to the quality.

Frankly speaking, I spent quite a lot of money on this assignment even though I chose the lousiest paper quality for my artwork. Compared to those original CD / DVD of an artist's album or movies, they are not expensive at all. Designing a CD labeler is not an easy job, plus, recording sound and shooting music video, the cost ain't low or cheap.

So, please don't complain about the CD is pricey or what. We must always support original CD as an appreciation to those who contribute in producing the "piece of art". I am trying to promote good value here. :D

Back to topic, I was required to produce a self-promote CD labeler, 3 print advertisements and a billboard advertisement. Please ignore the advertisements as the design is kinda sucks.

What is self-promote CD labeler? Literally, it is a CD that promote yourself, which is me. Also, according to my lecturer, this is another important "document" that represent yourself during job interview, aside from your resume, especially when you are interviewing for a graphic design job because it's more easier for the interviewer to glance through your previous designs/artworks that are stored inside the CD, so that they can know where's your design level and decide whether or not to hire you.  Sounds true OMG.

Here are my assignment's artwork!

Overall packaging. It's a handbag design.

Inside view.

The inner lay of my CD labeler is a wallet design.
My information is printed on the cards that can be taken out, looked real right?!
p/s : The IC is fake one.

Wondering how's my future job interviewer thinking about it.
